Focus test
using
Roll Film Holder or Film Holder.
After cleaning, repair or adjusting
you might like to check whether the distance from lens to the film surface has been brought back in its proper position.
To be absolutely sure you would have to test it with real film, but that would be unnecessary expensive and time consuming.
A small piece of frosted glass paper taking in the position of the film surface would do the job as well... in real time.
The frosted paper should be taped on the backside of the exposure window, normally the position of the roll film surface.
Place the Roll Film Holder against the back of the camera and close the slide locks. Open the cover to have free sight on the exposure window.
Open the front shutter and set the diaphragm completely open.
Now you'll see the image projected on the frosted glass paper.

Both photos of the desk light are taken from the back of the Pacemaker Speed Graphic with the front leaf shutter and diaphragm wide open.
Left photo shows the open Graflex Film holder exposure frame which is covered with thin frosted glass paper just for this testing purpose.
For the same reason the roll film winding device has been taken out.
The centre photo shows the image on the Graflex holder with the frosted paper inlay.
Right photo is taken from the original Graflok ground glass image.
Conclusion is that the film inside the film holder will be perfect in focus and matches the ground glass image for 100 percent.
That means that you can rely on the Graflok 's image on the GG screen before shooting.
